Last weekend I popped down to the Linx ice-arena in Aberdeen to watch my first ice-hockey match. I found out about it on Twitter and managed to get a friend to agree to go along with me. They cancelled at the last-minute but I decided what the hell I would pop along anyway.
It was the Aberdeen Lynx vs the Edinburgh Stingers and not being sure of what the hell I was doing ended up sitting at the away side… oops! For some reason I had it in my head that it started at 8pm but it was actually a 7pm face-off (check me with my terminology) so I missed the first period but the rest of the game was awesome. Fast-paced with plenty of goals and we ended up drawing 7-7!
The only downside is that it was bloody cold and I had a really numb bum afterwards! Will definitely pop along to another in the future hopefully one with a larger crowd as I think atmosphere would make it even more awesome!
