#62. Design (and wear) my own item of clothing

5 Jul

I’m not even sure if this should count but once again, my list, my rules! This past weekend I ran the Race for Life with my friend Karen in aid of cancer research. Not wanting to splash out too much cash on an official t-shirt that I would wear only once I figured why not design my own instead. So that’s what I did.

Before

I’d purchased a cheap t-shirt from Primark already for our dance show that was also this past weekend and it was such flimsy material that I figured I would probably never wear it again. I bought a cheap pack of fabric paints from HobbyCraft and set to work.

After

I had to keep it simple as I knew my race number would take up a good chunk of space once pinned on (I would have pinned it on for size had I not been a complete twat and somehow misplaced it :( ) Anyway, despite being fairly basic I was pleased with the way it turned out and it looked fine once the whole outfit was together!

Happy to be finished!!

The day itself was a scorcher and there were over 4000 runners, joggers and walkers who took part in the Aberdeen event. Myself and Karen did a mix of jogging and walking. She beat me to the finish line but I was extremely happy with my time of 35 minutes 27 seconds which was just over 7 mins per km. I’m also proud to have so far raised a total of £160.00. My JustGiving page will be open until the end of next week so there’s still plenty of time to donate, just click on any of the pictures above!
