Cosplay Fever – Another Rose Tyler (Tooth & Claw Version)

Another con, another cosplay! While looking for the 50′s Rose jacket (of which I still haven’t found the correct one by the way ) I stumbled across a set of the mini denim dungarees that Billie Piper wears in the episode Tooth & Claw… in my size… and I somehow ended up bidding and winning them! After that I pretty much had to complete the outfit otherwise it would have been a waste of money right?

The t-shirt is from Urban Renewal and as I discovered completely impossible to find so I decided to make my own. I bought a cheap mauve t-shirt from a local charity shop (the same one I found the gorgeous pink shoes for Idiot’s Lantern Rose actually) and via the power of Twitter a single sheet of t-shirt transfer paper. Now being me I left everything til the last-minute so instead of applying the transfer to a light pink fabric and then appliqueing it to the t-shirt I just ironed it straight on as centrally as possible. Hunting down an accurate crown design was proving a nightmare and then I stumbled upon Crafty_Tardis which had a perfect image – huge thank yous! After re-watching the episode I noticed the neckline was too low but didn’t have time to fix it so will instead cut it out and reuse the design once I find a better tee. A pair of knee-high black boots, thick black tights and clip-on silver hoop earrings (bought on eBay for the princely sum of £2.49!) et voila!

I wore it to EMS on the Sunday and had quite a few compliments. The ones from other Rose’s were especially nice to hear and it’s definately one of the comfier outfits I’ve done in my brief history of cosplay! As I was getting photoshoots that day I didn’t try getting my hair to look short and wavy but I have been practicing for another outing!
